Post operative care service at Sapphire Eye Care

1. Immediate Post-Operative Support

Immediately following surgery, patients will be monitored in our recovery suite. Our staff will provide care instructions, including information on medication, rest, and signs of complications to watch for.

2. First Follow-Up

Patients are typically seen for their first post-operative check within the first week after surgery. This visit allows us to assess the initial healing process and address any patient concerns. We will communicate the outcomes of this visit with the referring Optometrist.

3. Regular Check-Ins

We schedule regular check-ins with the patient to monitor their recovery and ensure they are following the post-operative care plan. These may be in-person visits or virtual consultations, depending on the patient’s needs and recovery progress.

4. Direct Optometrist Communication

Optometrists are kept in the loop with regular updates on their patient’s post-operative progress. We provide detailed reports after each follow-up, ensuring that you remain a key part of your patient’s care team.

5. Patient Education

We provide comprehensive education materials to help patients understand their post-operative care and encourage optimal recovery. This includes information on activities to avoid, how to care for the surgical site, and signs of potential complications.

6. 24/7 Patient Support Line

Our dedicated patient support line is available 24/7 for any post-operative questions or concerns that may arise, offering peace of mind to both patients and Optometrists.

7. Long-Term Care Planning

We collaborate with referring Optometrists to develop a long-term care plan, including any additional treatments or check-ups that may be necessary. Our goal is to ensure the patient’s lasting eye health and satisfaction with their surgical outcome.

8. Optometrist Training and Resources

We offer training and resources to Optometrists to aid in post-operative care. This ensures that if patients visit their Optometrist for follow-up, the Optometrist is well-equipped to provide consistent care in line with our protocols.

9. Feedback and Improvement

We actively seek feedback from both patients and Optometrists to continuously improve our post-operative care services. This feedback is crucial in refining our care pathways and ensuring the highest standard of patient care.

By prioritising communication, education, and personalised care, Sapphire Eye Care ensures that both Optometrists and their patients are fully supported throughout the post-operative period.
