Oculoplastics

How long does it take to fix my watery eyes?

Duration 0:53

If you're troubled by watery eyes, you should initially try the simple things that your optician and GP will hopefully have already suggested. So, that's making sure you have some Omega-3 intake each day. A nightly hot eyelid compress and use of a good quality tear-stabilising eye drop. If those things haven't helped, then treatment can vary from just a small procedure that can be done in outpatients all the way up to a surgery that might take an hour or more under general anaesthesia. And that's why it's important to see an oculoplastic surgeon to work out the cause of your watery eye, if the simple measures haven't helped.
