Anyone can have a floater vitrectomy if your symptoms are sufficiently severe, we can see no other pathology likely to affect the success of the operation and you fully understand the risks and benefits. So timing is very important. Most people who suffer floaters will adapt to them over time. Of everyone suffering from floaters, only a tiny minority of patients will actually require surgical intervention, so we’ll guide you as to the likelihood that you will recover spontaneously, and then the risks and benefits of the surgery itself. But there is no eye which is not suitable for floater vitrectomy.
