Fortunately, the risks of eyelid surgery are relatively low, and most people have a good recovery. The risks that we often worry about would be infection, which fortunately is rare. More commonly, patients will have a degree of bruising and swelling in their eyelids after surgery, but this often settles down within the first week, or two. Depending on the procedure, there may be more specific risks that I can discuss with you in more detail in clinic.
