Glaucoma can come in very different forms. The main type is something called chronic open angle glaucoma which affects the population as they mature. With this type of glaucoma, fortunately and unfortunately it’s considered a silent disease and so unfortunately it goes on for quite a while without any effect until it’s too late and we see problems with the vision. The acute type of glaucoma can cause a lot of pressure around the eye, pain, nausea, and vomiting, and redness. This is a lot more easier to detect but affects fewer patients.
