On the day of a blepharoplasty procedure, you’ll be met at the facility that you’re having your surgery by a member of staff. You’ll then have an opportunity to speak to the consultant and answer any final questions you have about your surgery. Most of the blepharoplasty surgery I do is often under local anaesthetic, but if your preference is for general anaesthesia, then there may be an anaesthetist that you’ll need to speak to as well. The surgery itself takes about an hour, depending on whether we’re doing upper and lower lids, and it’s a day case procedure, so after the operation, you’ll have the opportunity to rest a while in the hospital facility and then go home later that day.
