Cataracts and glaucoma are very different conditions. They affect your vision in different ways. Cataracts can be removed and improve your vision quite instantly, whereas glaucoma is a slow, progressive change that irreversibly blinds you. Glaucoma can be more serious and needs urgent treatment more quickly. There is a link between the two and can be treated at the same time, so it’s often important that if you do have cataracts, you see your glaucoma surgeon so they can plan future treatment.
