“The most important thing about treating blepharitis is to do it rigorously and to really get on top of the symptoms and the condition.
I do this using a triple treatment.
This involves plug-in heated eye pads to really get the oil out of the glands, rigorous lid hygiene but done simply in a hot shower with dilute shampoo on your fingertips and thirdly a drop regime which includes an antibiotic and a steroid eye drop.
In a very small number of cases people actually need oral antibiotics for a course of three to six months to clear up the underlying condition.”
