How does Refractive Lens Exchange differ from cataract surgery?
Duration 0:46
Transcript
Refractive lens exchange and cataract surgery are very similar procedures. They both replace your natural lens with an artificial implant. Particular care is taken with refractive lens exchange cases with regards to the preoperative measurements, the performance of the procedure and of course the selection of the lens. And in particular, rather than just going for good distance vision without spectacles, usually a form of presbyopia correcting lens would be used, either an extended depth of focus implant or a multifocal implant.
